PROBLEM

Walls of San Antonio involves in showing several murals with great amount of information about the artist, their artwork, and the impact on their communities. This could easily overwhelm a reader.

They also want to encourage readers to visit these mural in person to appreciate how these murals has visually improved the community.

approach

To not overwhelm the readers with colors, it was decided to use consistent colored imagery through out the magazine. These colors are derived from the featured mural from the cover. An approach I did to prevent the text from feeling overwhelming is sectioning off different article and having a hierarchy in type.

Solution

A way to encourage readers to visit these murals was by providing an infographic of a map and showing where these murals are located. For this edition, the SASAI murals in the Saint Mary's Strip was highlighted in the infographic, showing there is plenty of artworks to view. On the infographic, the mural artists are given credit for each mural along the Saint Mary's Strip and statistics on how the SASAI have impacted the community there.
